In the world where coronavirus is threatening the way we live, a big emphasis is put on hygiene. We are advised to regularly clean our hands with an alcohol-based hand rub or to wash them with soap and water. The streets and other public areas are being disinfected regularly and large parts of society are being shut down to stop the spread of the virus.
We all know that poor hygiene is a perfect breeding ground for different diseases. Some studies have concluded that almost a quarter of the global disease burden could be prevented if the environmental risks, that being poor hygiene, were reduced.
Means of transportation that carry many passengers at the same time such as buses and trains pose a special risk and are in these times of crisis almost completely shut down. It is a good thing this has happened since many people use them and it is impossible to clean right after the ride.
Limousine hygiene is unparalleled in the transport industry
The reason why limousine hygiene is unparalleled in the transport industry is that after each ride the limo is sent to thorough cleaning. Everything is disinfected and washed. This was a norm way before the increased accent on hygiene was put due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Limousine services have very high standards of cleanliness. This ensures a comfortable ride. In return customers should always try to not make a complete mess while they are riding in them. They should always try to leave the limousine in the condition they found it. It is easy to throw away any wrappers, empty bottles or cans in the nearest bin.
Putting shoes on the seats should not be done. It can stain the seats and cause you to pay extra for the cleaning. This is one more reason to be mindful when riding in a limo.
There is no excuse not to leave the limo in the same condition you found it. Even if you accidentally spill something or make a mess, every limo has a supply of personal hygiene products and a small supply of cleaning products.
Why is hygiene important?
We have all been reminded of how much personal cleanliness is important in the era of coronavirus. This isn’t anything new. One doctor realized it more than 170 years ago.
A hero in the scrubs
Everywhere we look we can see the words “wash your hands”. But in the past this was not the case. The doctor who advised this died tragically.
The name of the doctor was Ignaz Semmelweis. He is a Hungarian doctor who had just started working in a maternity clinic in Vienna. He discovered that cleaning instruments and washing hands significantly decreased mortality rates.
When he presented the findings he was ridiculed and criticized and in the end his findings were completely dismissed. As a result he was outraged and people believed that he was losing his mind.
He was admitted into an asylum and died 14 days later. It is said that his death came after he was brutally beaten by guards. The cause of his death was sepsis from infected wounds.
Later on, Louis Pasteur and Joseph Lister validated Ignaz Semmelweis’s work in their concepts the Germ Theory and antiseptic surgery. This brought a lot of praise to Ignaz Semmelweis after his death. He died in 1865 and today we are all seriously following his advice 170 later.
Health reasons why personal hygiene is important
As it has been mentioned before, poor cleanliness may cause death. It is important for minimizing infections and health problems after an injury. Good hygiene is vital for curbing the spread of germs and viruses as well. This is why we are all said to wash our hands regularly.
Hygiene in the limo industry
Many limousines look magnificent from the outside. But the interior of the limousine and the service should be more important. You will be riding in the limo for a while and you want to feel comfortable. You want impeccable limo hygiene.
Some of the companies do not follow the strict rules about cleanliness. A vehicle may look amazing from the outside, but not so good from the inside.
Like any other aspect of the limo rental, limousine hygiene is expected to be on point.
This is why you need to check out the vehicle you are hiring. You should ask to see the vehicle in person and every good company will agree to this.
If you are unable to do so for any reason, the company should show the pictures and videos of the vehicle to you.
Run away from any company that refuses to show you their vehicles. This indicates a bad service and unprofessionalism.
A good limo company will always be open to show their vehicles to you. They should show professionalism and inspire trust with their clients. Limousine hygiene is very important for those companies and they take great pride in it.
Alpha Zug is such a company. Our motto is “safety, reliability, efficiency” and we are there to cater any need our client may have.
Unfortunately, due to the coronavirus outbreak we are not operating. We will close our doors until the situation gets better. We hope that this will come in the recent future and that you will be able to enjoy a safe, reliable, efficient, and hygienic ride with us.
Conclusion
Limo hygiene is very important and every good company will always have clean vehicles. They would be more than happy to show their fleet to you. In case they don’t, move on. This may be a sign of bad service and a bad company.
We are all aware that hygiene is vital for our health. More than 170 years ago Ignaz Semmelweis realized this and shared it with the world. He was misunderstood and ridiculed which lead to his tragic death. He was later proven right and the world is now more than ever following the words “wash your hands”.
